Bill was born in Chicago in 1937 and raised in a small town in Ohio, He graduated from Colgate University in 1959 and received MS and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Psychology from Purdue University.

Bill’s employment career included 3 years in USAF leaving with a rank of Captain; 4 years as a Behavioral Scientist with the Philco-Ford Corp. in Palo Alto, CA.; 4 years as a Senior Behavioral Scientist with the Western Electric Corp. in Princeton, NJ and 32 years with the TEC Organization (now named Vistage) in Southern California. He joined the organization in its start-up period in 1973 and was initially the Director of the Pepperdine University Presidential/Key Executive MBA program (a joint venture between TEC and Pepperdine University). In 1986 he became President and CEO of TEC. The company provides a personal development program for Chief Executive Officers throughout the US and in 13 other countries. He retired from the company in 2004.
